One more time I leave my home with guitar case in my hand.

Well, I think I'll quit tomorrow, I'm really tired of this town.

The picture in my mind I see when I think about it all

When I look through the window i'm out of control

For I know with the first light of dawn I'll be leaving

I will drive with my old coach through the endless valleys

The morning is just a few hours away, away

The lonesome sound of a train goin' by, goin by
(it's the steam train Pacifik 01 202, of course)

Noch einmal verlasse ich mein Zuhause, mit dem Gitarrenkoffer in der Hand.

Nun, ich glaube, ich werde morgen aufhören, ich habe diese Stadt wirklich satt.

Mit dem Bild in meinem Kopf sehe ich, was ich alles denke

Wenn ich durch das Fenster schaue, bin ich schon ausser Kontrolle

Und die Strasse geht für immer weiter

Und ich kenne mein Ziel, weiss wohin es mich zieht

Mit dem ersten Licht der Morgendämmerung werde ich gehen

Ich werde mit meinem alten Wagen durch endlose Täler fahren

Der nächste Morgen ist nur noch wenige Stunden entfernt

In der Ferne das einsame Geräusch eines vorbeifahrenden Zuges
(hier handelt es sich um die Schlepptender-Dampflokomotive Pacifik 01 202, logisch!)

Und die Strasse geht für immer weiter
